In 1993, a man by the name of T. Lieighton Forbes pled guilty to various charges of theft, deception, and criminal conspiracy. Shortly after his pled of guilty, he and his wife Jill chose to start a company. The company which they chose to call Innovative Office Services, carried on Lieghton Forbe's tradition of bad business practices. Currently the company is involved in several cases, among the charges are fraud and bad business dealings. Some of the several groups, which have cases against the company are, a small Baptist Church in North Philadelphia, a small manufacturer, and a one man benefits firm in North east Philadelphia.

One of the companies, which was not named alleges that Innovative Office hoodwinked their employee into a contract by telling them that a copy machine which they were leaving for a "Free Trial", put the company under no obligation what so ever. The employee was asked to sign a release, which they did, later it was discovered that that release was an iron clad lease. A month later the company received a bill requesting that they pay a sum of sales tax. Upon receiving this letter the company began investigating the situation.

In the end the company ended up paying over $8,000.00 to settle a case brought against them by the finance company. While the "Free Trial" machine was in use by the company. They produced nearly 3500 copies, doing the math you come up with a cost of over $2.28 per page. I would say that's no free trial. This case has not yet gone to trial, but it is said that with the owners past history of bad business dealing, the company does not stand much chance. I assume we will be seeing Innovative Office Services paying out somelarge sums of money.
